Just What Is Just Cycle?
We are a local registered charity based in Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders. We are a social enterprise. We repair, restore and recycle unwanted bikes making them available at an affordable prices.
We accept public donations of unwanted bicycles and work together with other organisations who collect unwanted bicycles from landfill on our behalf.
What Do We Do:
Just Cycle recycle and re-use bikes that would otherwise have been thrown out. Unused bikes are recovered from a range of sources, transported to our base and then recycled. We make use of the many bikes left in people’s sheds and garages and encourage people of all ages to cycle. We also provide basic maintenance skills to encourage people to maintain their own bikes. Recycled bikes are then be passed on for sale, loan or donation to people of all ages. Those who may be involved helping to recycle bikes include both young and old, people with learning disabilities, youth groups and people carrying out unpaid work.
Anyone can benefit from our bicycles and some people who may not be inclined to try cycling due to cost, can obtain a low cost, fully serviced bicycle from Just Cycle. All of our bicycles go through our workshop and are thoroughly checked over by a qualified bicycle mechanic prior to being available for sale. We include a 3 month good will cover on every bike sold, providing peace of mind for our customers.
