eBike for Borderers is a not-for-profit initiative giving locals a low cost opportunity to try out an ebike to replace car journeys for travel to work, for shopping or leisure.

The hills of the Borders can be a barrier to cycling for many people and ebikes are the perfect solution.

Our climate emergency goal is to help people reduce fossil fuel use and emissions, while experiencing the many economic and social benefits to using ebikes.

We can help people see just how much they could save on fuel and vehicle maintenance, while the exercise, fresh air and beautiful views can work wonders for cardiovascular health, general fitness and mental wellbeing.

We have 10 Raleigh eBikes that we offer for trial on a longer term basis – usually a month – so that people can experience using an ebike on a regular basis.

Bike collection is from Tweedbank or Selkirk and delivery may be possible.

We ask for a donation to cover our costs which equates to around £4 per day. We offer a generous 50% discount for those on low incomes or not in employment.
